5 Things to Do Before Your Mobile Detailing Appointment

Getting your vehicle detailed is straightforward, but a little preparation goes a long way. Here are five things you can do before your appointment to make sure everything runs smoothly and you get the best results possible.

1. Remove Personal Belongings

This is the most important step. Go through your vehicle and take out anything that does not need to be there: gym bags, phone chargers, sunglasses, loose change, kids' toys, paperwork, and anything stored in the center console or glovebox.

We will work around items if needed, but removing them beforehand means we can clean every surface thoroughly without having to move your stuff around. It also protects your belongings from getting wet during steam cleaning.

2. Make Sure We Have Access to Water and Power

Since we come to you, we need access to a standard outdoor water spigot and a power outlet at your location. This is how we run our equipment — steam cleaners, vacuums, pressure washers, and lighting all require power and water.

If you live in an apartment complex or condo, check with your property management ahead of time. Most complexes have exterior outlets and hose bibs available, but it helps to confirm before the day of service.

3. Pick a Good Spot

We need enough room to work around your vehicle comfortably. A driveway, garage, or open parking spot works well. Ideally, the spot should be:

  • Flat and paved (concrete or asphalt)
  • Close to the water and power source
  • Not in direct sunlight if possible (shade helps us control product application and drying times)

If you are in Murfreesboro, Smyrna, or any of the surrounding areas we serve, most residential driveways work perfectly.

4. Know What You Want

Before we arrive, think about what matters most to you. Is there a specific stain that has been bothering you? Are the seats the main concern, or is it the overall smell? Is the exterior paint rough to the touch?

The more specific you are, the better we can focus our time and attention where it counts. If you are unsure, that is fine too — we will do a walkthrough and give you an honest assessment.

5. Plan for Time

A full interior detail takes 2 to 3 hours. An interior plus exterior can take 3 to 5 hours depending on vehicle size and condition. We recommend planning your day so you are not rushed and we are not either.

You do not need to be present the entire time, but we do need access to the vehicle and the keys. Many customers hand off the keys and go about their day, then check in when we are wrapping up.

That Is It

No complicated prep needed. Just clear out your stuff, make sure we can plug in and hook up to water, and give us a good spot to work. We handle the rest.
