How to Decide Between an Interior, Exterior, or Full Detail

Booking a mobile detail is not always straightforward. We offer four core packages, and the question we hear most often is some version of: "Which one do I actually need?"

Here is a practical guide to picking the right service based on your vehicle current condition and what you are trying to accomplish.

Start With the Honest Assessment

Before you pick a service, take five minutes and look at your vehicle inside and out. Be honest with yourself about what you see.

Exterior questions to ask:

  • Is there visible dirt, road grime, or bug buildup on the paint?
  • Are the wheels dirty or covered in brake dust?
  • Do you see water spots or streaks even after a recent wash?
  • Is the paint dull or are there areas where the finish looks tired?
  • Has it been more than a few weeks since a real wash?

Interior questions to ask:

  • Is there visible dust, crumbs, or debris on the seats, floor, or in cupholders?
  • Are there stains on the seats or carpets?
  • Does the cabin smell off — even a little?
  • Is the dashboard dusty or sticky?
  • Are the windows fogged or filmed on the inside?

The number of "yes" answers on each side tells you which area needs attention.

When to Pick a Full Exterior Detail

A Full Exterior Detail is the right call when:

  • The outside of your vehicle is visibly dirty or has not been properly washed in a while
  • The interior is in decent shape and does not need attention
  • You want to protect the paint, restore some gloss, and clean the wheels
  • You are preparing the vehicle to be seen — for a sale, a trip, photos, or just a fresh look

Starting at $80 for a sedan, $110 for an SUV, and $140 for a truck. Includes a full hand wash, foam cannon contact wash, wheels and tires cleaned, light tar and bug removal, tire dressing, and a hydrophobic paint sealant.

When to Pick a Full Interior Detail

A Full Interior Detail is the right call when:

  • The outside looks fine but the inside needs real attention
  • You are dealing with dust buildup, fabric staining, or general cabin grime
  • You want to reset the interior to a clean baseline
  • Pets, kids, or daily commuting have taken their toll

Starting at $110 for a sedan, $150 for an SUV, and $190 for a truck. Includes a full vacuum, blow-out of crevices and vents, wipe-down of all surfaces, steam-based fabric cleaning, light spot treatment, door jambs, and interior glass.

When to Pick the Full Interior + Exterior Detail

The Interior + Exterior Detail is our most popular service for a reason. It is the right call when:

  • Both inside and outside need attention
  • It has been a while since the vehicle had a thorough cleaning
  • You want to reset the entire vehicle in one appointment
  • You are preparing to sell or trade in

Starting at $150 for a sedan, $200 for an SUV, and $250 for a truck. It combines the full interior service and the full exterior service into one appointment. Typically takes 3 to 5 hours depending on vehicle size and condition.

If you are not sure where to start with a vehicle that has not been detailed in a long time, this is almost always the right answer.

When to Pick the Maintenance Detail

The Maintenance / Recurring Detail is a lighter-touch service designed for existing customers whose vehicles are already in good condition. It is not available for first-time customers — you need to complete a full-price detail with us first to be eligible.

It is the right call when:

  • You have already had a full detail with us and the vehicle is still in good shape
  • You want to maintain that condition with recurring service every 3 to 6 months
  • You want a lower-cost option to keep things consistent without resetting from scratch

Starting at $100 for a sedan, $140 for an SUV, and $180 for a truck.

A Few Practical Notes

If you have add-on needs, mention them when you book. Things like excessive pet hair, deep leather conditioning, glass sealant, or engine bay cleaning are separate add-ons that go on top of whichever core service you pick. [See all add-ons here](/addons).

Pricing is based on size and condition. Listed prices are starting prices for vehicles in average condition. If your vehicle has heavy soiling, embedded pet hair, or significant buildup, the final price may be adjusted after we see the vehicle.

When in doubt, ask. Submit an estimate request and tell us what you are working with. We will recommend the right package based on what you actually need, not what costs the most.

The Most Common Mistake

The most common mistake we see is people picking a service that is too light for the condition of the vehicle. Someone with a heavily soiled interior books a Maintenance detail and is disappointed that we did not deep clean everything. The reverse also happens — someone with a clean car books a Full Interior + Exterior when an Exterior alone would have been plenty.

The best way to avoid both is to be honest about the current condition and pick the service that matches what your vehicle actually needs.
